I usually stop by this L&L at least once a week. The BBQ chicken, Laulau plate, and BBQ shirt ribs are really good. My daughter just loves the Garlic Ahi. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. The service is very friendly and the staff is helpful to everyone. Keep up the great work L&L Waimanalo!!

It took me three years living here but I finally made it to an L&L.
For under $11 you can get a massive portion of chicken katsu, mac, and rice. That's a heck of a good deal. My wife and I could have easily split one plate. Frankly, at the time, I thought the katsu was absolutely delicious. However, I wasn't prepared for the after-effects. Nothing excessively gross or anything, just burping up katsu for hours and hours after eating it, and generally feeling terrible and lethargic from the gargantuan plate of fried deliciousness.
Knowing what I know now, and even though I thought it tasted great, I'm not sure the side effects are worth it, especially since I can get katsu elsewhere without feeling miserable after. Still, if you want to get lunch on a Sunday for a cheap price, this is a pretty good value! -

L&L is a chain of what we local's call plate lunch place. They serve things from BBQ beef, chicken katsu, and loco moco which is what I got this time.
I read other people's reviews about getting bad service, but truthfully I have never experienced that yet. Today I came in and was greeted by a smiling face and hello. After looking over the menu, I decided on the mini loco moco which for you non-locals or ones who don't get out much is rice which is topped with a hamburger and then an egg on top then gravy poured on top. Yes I know what you are thinking... I thought the same until I had my first one and for some odd reason it works. I love it and I think you will too.
L&L BBQ gives generous portions and you can substitute white rice for brown and tossed green salad instead of mac salad. -

Stopped in this little location to get my kids some food... they being half Asian/Hawaiian by blood like L&L. I noticed that the service to Haole's is very poor, curt, and they prepared at least 5 meals for other "locals" that came in and order long after we ordered our two standard plates. My children enjoyed their L& L, but I would not recommend stopping or supporting a business that, in my personal opinion and feeling, promotes hatred or bias.

This is a must stop in Ala Moana Beach Park. I had the BBQ Chicken Sandwich which is made of all dark meat for a moister, juicy combination than some chicken sandwiches that others may be used to. They offer fries with it but I didn't want them. The sandwich was prepared to order, as I believe they prepare all of their dishes. They have other foods like hotdogs, other times of chicken sandwiches, and even BBQ pork sandwiches as well. I had some of the shaved ice treats for dessert. This was a great way to end the day of exploration part of Oahu with good food and a beautiful sunset at Ala Moana Beach. Enjoy!
